Today I am bringing you a very simple recipe for what might be one of the best home made wings you have ever had :) This recipe is super simple but does require you to buy some Asian Spices and other utensils. So here it is, Spicy Asian Wings Recipe.
- Chicken Wings (2 lb)
- Fresh Ginger and Garlic
- Thai Green Chilly Whole (4 counts)
- Green Onions (Scallion) Finely Chopped
- Fresh Ground Peanut
- Soy Sauce
- Hoisin Sauce (2-3 Table Spoon)
- Brown and or Sugar in the Raw (2 Tea Spoon)
- Siracha - Hot Sauce (2 Table Spoon)
- Chili Garlic Sauce (2 Table Spoon)
- Paprika (2 Table Spoon)
- Ketchup (1 Table Spoon)
- Salt & Pepper (Taste)
- Worcestershire Sauce (2 Table Spoon)
- Sesame Oil (Taste)
First, Marinade your chicken wings in some oil, salt & pepper and 2 Table Spoon of Paprika. Remember you can always increase or decrease the amount of spices you put in a dish.
In a small blender or Spice and Nut Grinder (If you don't have one I do suggest you buy it. Search in Amazon for Spice and Nut Grinder. The best one out there is by Cuisine Art and it is fairly inexpensive. This Grinder will definitely come in handy for your future cooking) add the garlic cloves, ginger, soy sauce, oil, 3 table spoon of water, 2 table spoon of brown sugar and blend it into a fine paste. This will be your marinade.
Now add the marinade to the chicken wings. Make sure you massage the marinade properly into the chicken wings. Grate ginger and let the marinade sit for about 45 - 60 Mins.
Make sure your oven is set to broil and let the oven heat with the pan in for about 10 minutes. After 10 mins take the empty pan and just brush a little oil or use PAM (Cooking Spray) to ensure the chicken doesn't get stuck to the pan. Broil the Chicken Wings (Skin Side Up) for about 8 minutes. Then lower the heat to 375 F and cook for 8 minutes. Then turn the wings upside down to cook the other side under direct broil for about 5 minutes.
After the chicken wing is done let it rest for a while before you add it to the sauce.
For the sauce add ginger and garlic to warm combination of Oil and Sesame Oil. Make sure you heat is low at this time as you add Hoisin Sauce, Soy Sauce, Chili Garlic Paste, Siracha, Worcestershire Sauce and Ketchup. Also add 1/2 cup of warm water and let the sauce simmer for about 2-3 minutes in low heat.
Now turn the heat very high as you add the chicken. Use tongs to slowly move the chicken around the pan to make sure it is properly coated by the sauce. Let it cook in the sauce for about 4-5 minutes.
Garnish the Chicken Wings with finely chopped scallions and ground peanuts. Spicy Asian Wings are ready to be served. Enjoy :)
